New River

We are proud to announce a new river available to our clients, the Straumfjardara River. The river is located on the West Coast of Iceland, 150 km from Reykjavik. It is fished with a maximum of 4 daily rods and the average catch rates are 441 salmon per year. It is a river perfectly suited for single handed rods and floating lines, much like most of Iceland’s West Coast rivers.

Also, like the other West Coast rivers, the Straumfjardara River is predominantly a grilse river but the percentage of salmon has been increasing in recent years, in compliance with the “no kill” rule for all salmon. The odd grilse is allowed to keep for the table.

We have already started booking for the 2018 season and so if you are interested in fishing on the Straumfjardara River please send us your inquiries
