The fishing season in Iceland starts April 1. 2012 when some hardcore fly fishing addicts (mostly locals) head for spring sea trout fishing. Iceland has great sea trout fishing and the best times to do that kind of fishing in Iceland is in the spring and again in the autumn.
My personal favorite river to fish in the spring in Iceland is Huseyjarkvisl River. It has monster sea trout, great fly water, challenging and diverse conditions and add to that the, sometimes, harsh weather conditions thrown at you in April and you've got yourself one heck of a fly fishing adventure.
Up until now this chance has not been available to foreign anglers as the locals keep they're spots once they've been once. Well now I've worked hard in securing some dates on the Huseyjarkvisl River in April and so this rare chance is up for grabs to whom ever feels he has what it takes fuelled by the hardcore fly fishing addiction needed for fly fishing in Iceland in April.
