About the river Skoga and it's tributary Kverna make up the fishing area. Fishing starts just below the famous waterfall, Skoga, which is one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls. In recent year there has been a salmon smolt releasing program that has been a great success.
![]() Nice looking river
On average there are about 800 salmon caught each year and about 7-800 trout and char. Record year in 2008 saw a total of 1560 salmon caught. Flies The river is fast and deep so tube flies have been most effective. Sink tip lines and smaller flies also work very well.
Tackle The Skoga river is a medium volume river so a single handed rod is recommended. Preferably size 6-9.
![]() Another happy angler on the Skoga The fish Mostly salmon and sea run Arctic char although there is also some sea trout to be had, especially in the late season.
