 Another nice sea trout caught in 2009 The trip Iceland Angling Travel offers guided trips for the perfect combination of salmon and sea trout fishing in Iceland. The Tungulaekur river in the south-east of Iceland offers excellent salmon and sea trout fishing. The prime time salmon fishing is in high summer but as the season progresses the sea trout start running the river in great numbers. Travel time from Reykjavik to the river is approx. 3,5 hours and estimated arrival time will be at 14:00. Fishing will start at 15:00 or when anglers have settled in and gotten their gear ready. The river is perfect for fly fishing and for several years now it has had a no kill, fly only policy.

This river is known worldwide for it's abundance of both sea trout and salmon and the size of the fish - especially the sea trout. Some very well known anglers have fished this river including the late Mel Krieger. The fish can not travel further upstream than the waterfall at the top of the fishing area so the waterfall pool can sometimes be quite exciting just to watch let alone to fish.
 Nice brown trout caught September 2009 The lodge The lodge is new and luxurious with three double bedrooms that each have their own private bathroom and two single bedrooms. A special wader room is located in the basement where anglers can hang their waders to dry when the fishing stops in the evening.
The food Included in this trip is all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and all non-alcoholic drinks. Your guide is your chef as well and he has had training in the culinary arts. Ingredients are local to the extent possible and we always strive to get the most fresh ingredients available at the time. Fresh fish and fresh meat will be served unless you would like something else or have any food allergies.
The tackle Recommended are single handed rods #5-#8. We also recommend anglers bring floating lines and sink tip lines, preferably 24 foot, 130 - 300 gr.
