Iceland AnglingTravel offers guided trips to some of the best brown trout rivers in Iceland. We have made an effort in finding quality brown trout fishing for our guests and we accept nothing but the very best. Iceland is perhaps best known for its salmon fishing but what only a few have discovered is that we offer some of the best brown trout fishing you will ever encounter.
Over the years we have been guiding and fishing on the best trout rivers Iceland has to offer. We have made an effort offering only what feel are the best rivers with the highest quality and value for money. This is why some rivers are added while others are removed from our list of available rivers. These days we are looking north for the quality we want to offer our clients. Rivers like Litla, Reykjadalsa, Huseyjarkvisl, Svarta, Brunna and the Laxa in Adaldalur, Myvatnssveit and Laxardalur are all in the north and all offer fantastic brown trout fishing. The Varma River is located in the south and is our main river for day trips during the high season.
None of these rivers are stocked with brown trout and so all these fish are wild and you will feel the difference. Imagine catching a 6 pound brown trout in the central highlands of Iceland with the view of glaciers and untamed nature. Better yet, imagine casting your dry fly to that rising six pounder or even casting a nymph at a brown trout well over 10 pounds! We can make that happen for you. Below there are links to those rivers we are so proud so take a look and contact us with questions, preferences, dreams and bookings. ![]() Brown trout caught on Litla River
