Kristjan Benediktsson - "Stjani Ben"

Stjani Ben is the senior of the guide staff and also the manager of the company. Stjani started fishing at a very young age with a piece of mono-filament and a hook down by the local docks. Soon the tactics changed and there was a rod involved in the mix. This was at his "back yard" lake that so cleverly is called Brown trout lake. Like so many locals, Stjani gained his experience mostly through his father and grandfather that also taught him how to cast a fly. Stjani has been taking care of anglers from all over the world for years now and in the spring of 2009 he graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in rural tourism. His thesis centered on angling tourism in Iceland. Immediately after the gradutation Iceland Angling Travel was founded. In December 2009 Stjani was the author of a fly tying book published in Iceland called "Trout flies". He is also had several articles published in the Icelandic angling media.

Steinar Bjarki Magnusson

Steinar the cheerful guide

Steinar the cheerful guide

Steinar started working for us in 2011 and was very well liked by his guests as being a fun loving, cheerful guide. Steinar started fishing at age 5 and started fly fishing with his dad at age 13. His first salmon was landed in 1995 at Laxa in Kjos but brown trout is his favorite species to catch. Steinar has spent a lot of time hiking around the highland area Arnarvatnsheidi and he will be pioneering trips there for Iceland Angling Travel in 2012. Guiding is Steinar's second job and in real life he is the head chef for a very popular seafood restaurant in Reykjavik called The Fishmarket. So Steinar's guests are in for a culinary treat on the trips with him.
